ALLEY (the band), About the band
ALLEY (the band) are a four piece band based on the South coast. It all started when Robbie heard Ali (rather drunkenly) sing a Christmas song in a pub and thought, if I’m going to start a band, I’ll ask Ali to sing. 9 months later the band started with the first iteration of musicians, but Ali and Robbie realised they needed the right people and Jay and Antony joined after meeting at an open mic.
We love writing, performing and recording our own songs but can also perform covers when requested. Our songs are lyric focused with great energy and emotion and we work hard to create songs with catchy hooks and ear worm tunes!
The songs are initially written by Ali and Robbie but they are then brought to life with Jay's funky bass and Antony's crisp and empathetic drums.
Once we are happy with a song, it's off to Dirty Beast Studios where producer Al Moghadam knows how to bring the best out of our music, adding textural layers and exciting points of interest but never compromising the integrity of the song.

Meet the band below.
Ali - Singer, Song Writer, Keyboards
Ali is trained as a singer and pianist and has been a member and soloist of choirs for many years and continues to date.
ALLEY (the band) is her first foray into performing with a band and this experience has unleashed a passion for creating and recording original tracks.
Robbie - Rhythm Guitar and Song Writer
Rhythm guitarist Robbie puts the music to Ali's lyrics although he does turns out the occasional set of lyrics himself.
Although Robbie would play small gigs and venues with family and friends the idea of joining a covers or tribute band had no appeal, even though the offers were there, writing and playing the band's original music with Ali, Jay and Antony is a place, he feels, where he was always meant to be.
Like all guitarists Robbie has a collection, but mainly plays an early Ibanez Artcore AS73 which he has upgraded with Tonerider Vintage pickups and 1950's style electrics.
Jaymie - Bass Guitar
Jay is an exceptional bass player with years of experience playing in different bands and as a sessions musician. He has a great ear for a fantastic bass line and this is very evident in our original material. Jay has 2 dogs which take up most of his spare time!
Jay has a collection of basses, but is rarely seen without a Fender Jazz
Antony - Drums
When Antony stood-in to help the band out with a sound check, within thirty seconds of the first song Robbie had turned to Ali and said, "That's the drummer I want on our tracks".
Antony also has his own covers band, Under the Attic, where he teams up again with Jay as his bass player, as well as hosting a spiritually themed podcast: Discerning Consciousness' Podcast
Paul - Lead Guitar
Through the years Paul has played for some high quality Covers and Original bands, one of these bands containing Jaymie.
When the band started looking for a Lead Guitarist, Jaymie imidiatly thought of Paul, knowing he would be a great fit
